This week we were doing ratios, I learnt them and they turned out to be really fun I hope we get to to them more!

How to find Matariki

It was late June and I decided that I wanted to try and find the matariki star cluster. So I found the southern cross I head east, I saw the brightest stars in our night sky called

henetakarua I stared at it for a little then i decided to move on. I found 3 bright stars named Tautoru apparently some people see a bottom of a pot but I saw the orions pot. But I heard that Tautoru can point you the right way.  I saw Te Matakaheru it was a triangle shaped constellation it was linked to a triangle shaped tinui spade of the same name. Now just off its shoulder we will see a bright cluster of stars, this is matariki. With a telescope you

would be able to see hundreds of stars but with the naked eye we can just point out 7-9 of the

brightest stars. This is what we know in Aotearoa as matariki. Mum got the feast and

we sat outside, the kumara was my favourite. That's how you find matariki.

In the the last few weeks our class has been doing STEAM we had to go out and buy supplies to do a experiment. My friends and I decided to do what bath bomb lasts the longest. We had a lot of fun doing this! ❤😇😁

this is about my special place Mt Ruapehu. I have been skiing there since i was 2-3. I could ski by myself when i was 4. now I am an intermediate skier at the age of 9 soon to be pro in a couple of years hopefully. I can ski from the top of the mountain wich makes me proud. by Leilani :)
